In a recent interview with Mark Rein (Epic Head Honcho) it came out that Microsoft is none to pleased that Epic wants to give away all the GOW maps for free instead of selling it through the XBLA Marketplace.
This has now caused a storm in a teacup all over the internet with claims that Microsoft is profiteering on Epics products.
One small problem though, Microsoft is the official publisher for Gears of War and as the publisher they get to decide the price of everything that is developed for it. This is what publishers do. So they may be profiteering but at least they are doing it on their own products 🙂
Unlike Geometry wars which was meant to be a free download but Microsoft forced a price on that as well.
