Director Stephen Sommers’ previous G.I. Joe film was a mixed bag. Yes, that mix contained about 80% dog flatulence, but it did have a few cool scenes; specifically the Paris powersuit chase and pretty much any time Snake Eyes was on screen. Now with the sequel, new director Jon Chu decided to ditch the entire cast except Channing Tatum (so still about 20% doggy fart then?) and Ray Park, while adding Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bruce Willis and Adrianne Palicki in hopes of giving the franchise the shot in the arm it was so desperately lacking.
And judging by this new trailer (which will officially only be aired at Superbowl), he may just have succeeded. It features badass ninja action, sexy vixens, Dwayne Johnson with a really big gun and also the more classically garbed debut of Cobra Commander. This may just be the G.I. Joe movie that fans wanted to see in the first place.

You left out the best part of the trailer, the fact that it seems like channing tatum isn’t in it for more than 10 minutes.

Yeah, the rumour mill is that Channing Tatum pulls an “Executive Decision”, which makes me smile.
