Goodbye Hogwarts, and welcome to the jungle! David Yates sets out for TARZAN

With the wizarding world behind him, David Yates has had time to examine which project he wants to tackle next, a luxury afforded to him due to the small fact that the Harry Potter films under him were essentially a license to print money.

At one point, Yates was set to direct Your voice in my head, which would have had Emma Watson in the lead, but instead, the grand wizard is going to film something that involves more loin cloths and jungle vine swinging, as he sets sail for Tarzan.

Yates has locked in a deal to helm a new film over at Warner Bros about the Edgar Rice Burrough creation. There’s no word yet on who the director has pegged to don the loincloth of the enduring legend (I’m guessing that it won’t be De Wet Du Toit) , although he has met with several actors such as Henry Cavill, Alexander Skarsgard and Charlie “Sons Of Anarchy” Hunnam already about the role.

It’s still early days right now, but if there’s one thing that people never seem to tire of, it’s seeing the ape-man in all his various guises on big and small screens. Who would you like to see bellow the iconic shout of the jungle myth?
