Seems like ol’ Steve Rogers is the Lady Gaga of the Avengers, changing costumes for each act. He’s on his third on-screen appearance and already has just as many costumes. The concept art for his third set of duds was leaked last week, but now thanks to some set pics courtesty of JFX Online, we get a look at it for real. And it looks great!
And yes, that’s Scarlett Johansson up there, getting her Black Widow on. Besides for much longer hair than her previous on-screen appearances, I can’t see that any changes has been made to her costume. But honestly, how could they improve on perfection?
With regards to Chris Evans’ new outfit, I really dig the darker blue and refined logo, as well as the more practiical looking helmet, gloves and boots. This looks like it blends the best of both his previous costumes: The real world ruggedness of his WW2 garb in Captain America: The First Avenger, and the hi-tech sleekness of the turquoise unitard he wore in The Avengers.
And for those of you that missed it, here’s another look at that concept art, as well as the comic book version of the costume that inspired it.
