DC seems to be busy this week revealing the looks of upcoming shows such as Gotham and The Flash. But there’s one other show on the horizon. A TV series about a con-man, a liar and a thief. And if you give him a chance, John Constantine could be a hero as well. When Constantine was first adapted back in 2005 for the big screen, he looked or acted nothing like his source material. This time however, they’ve nailed the look for the dangerous mage.
Scruffy appearance? Check. Blonde hair? Check. A devil may care attitude? Check. The iconic trenchcoat? Double-check! That’s your first two images of Constantine and the crew behind the show from Slates for Sarah, which will star Matt Ryan as the supernatural troublemaker.
Lucy Griffiths also stars as Liv, Harold Perrineau as the angel Manny and Charles Halford as Constantine’s friend and eternal free taxi-ride, Chas. The pilot begins filming this week with Neil “Game of Thrones” Marshall directing, and out of the three new shows that DC and Warner Bros is working on this is the one that I want to see the most. And just by having that signature look intact, I’m already excited.

Well, it’s an unkempt guy in a trench coat. How hard could that be? I know Darryn never wears pants with his coat, so maybe that’s why this seems impressive…
