MACGRUBER! When MacGruber was released back in 2010, it was a, action comedy movie that riffed on MacGuyver that critics called stupid, childish, vicious and completely nonsensical. And they were all right, as MacGruber was all of that, yet magically charming and funny as hell. Because when your lead character gleefully admits that he yearns to rip the throat out of someone, you know that you aren’t buckled in for your usual comedy film.
Speaking to The Wrap, MacGruber star Will Forte explained that there may be a realistic chance for someone to throw some money at him to get a sequel made:
It seems like we have a realistic shot at getting [‘MacGruber 2′] made. We have a loose outline of the first couple of acts, which we’re really excited about. So we’ve just got to flesh it out a little more.
It all comes down to timing however. Right now, Forte is busy with the TV series The Last Man On Earth, and it looks like that show is his number one priority right now:
If [‘The Last Man on Earth’] were to ever be successful enough to get a second season, we’d probably have to wait until after that season to make it. If the show isn’t successful enough to do that, we’d probably jump in right away.
Of course Forte was just one third of a magical cast, that also included Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillipe. And the rest of the MacGruber team is ready to rock and roll again if a sequel is greenlit officially. I’d love to see a MacGruber sequel. The original film had obviosuly been dropped on its head when it was a child, as it was filled with prepsoterous scenes that involved celery sticks up the butt, WWE stars being slaughtered with homemade explosives and the most disturbing diary entries regarding a car license plate number, of all time.

I started watching it, can’t really remember why I stopped. I do remember giggling at the scene where all the WWE wrestlers blow themselves up.

Watched half of it. Was not as bad as some other movies. Not sure I could have finished it
