We’ve had interviews, set pics, official pics, more interviews, and weeks of tiny teasers, but over the weekend Marvel finally unveiled the first proper look at their next Netflix series, Jessica Jones. The first full trailer for the show debuted on Friday evening and instantly had the internet buzzing! And for good reason, because it looks fantastic!

We had heard about how dark and hauntingly grim this follow-up to the critically acclaimed Daredevil would get, about how it was more psychological thriller than superhero adventure, and this first real glimpse is most definitely holding up that promise. Krysten Ritter, as the titular ex-superhero turned private eye, seems just as broken as promised, with David Tennant’s mind-controlling Zebediah Killgrave aka the Purple Man, looks to be downright devilish.

Throw in Mike Colter’s Luke Cage – who will be getting his own superhero series after this one – and you have quite a potent mix of intense drama and top notch superheroics, and I cannot wait to see how it all plays out. Check out the trailer below!

After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.

Jessica Jones also stars Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval. It will premiere the entirety of its 13 one-hour episode first season on Netflix on November 20.
