The Academy Awards? Ha! Don’t make me laugh! Who needs to see Jennifer Lawrence trip when you can see entire films miss a step and stumble forward into a whole new level of terrible!
Held the night before the Oscars, the Razzies celebrate the worst of the worst of Hollywood. Without a doubt, Movie 43 won the majority of awards that night, scooping dishonours for worst picture, director and screenplay. Here’s the full list of “winners”:
Worst Actor – Jaden Smith, After Earth
Worst Actress – Tyler Perry, A Madea Christmas
Worst Supporting Actor – Will Smith, After Earth
Worst Supporting Actress – Kim Kardashian, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor
Worst Screen Combo – Jaden Smith & Will Smith, After Earth
Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel – The Lone Ranger
Worst Director – The 13 people who directed Movie 43
Worst Screenplay – The 19 people who wrote Movie 43
Surprisingly, this year saw Razzie regulars Adam Sandler and Sylvester Stallone walk away empty-handed. Fortunately 2014 looks like it’ll have them in the running for the next Razzies awards.

Didnt think it was as bad as people make it out to be.
Jaden and Will werent exactly stellar, but the movie itself wasnt bad, it was just missing so much… stuff… Same as Oblivion.
I actually thought Jadens acting was pretty acurate, not good, but accurate, hes an akward cocky teenager, and acted like one.
As far as young/child actors go, it wasnt the worst performance of the season. It was atleast better than the kid from Enders Game.
Im of the oppinion that the story/plot is 100% to blame for the crapness of the movie. its like they made a movie from sketch notes rather than a script.

Granted I did watch Enders Game last night and while I liked the story I thought the kid was awful as an actor.

Agreed! It never bothered my 10yr old but my Mrs and I both found him lacking and it took away from the emotional impact of what should have been an awesome ending.

I will also be contributing to your legal fund btw, been a bit rof lately but should settle down this week and I shall make a donation before the week is out. Thank you for standing up for local gamers and doing your utmost to fix this broken system. I hope you make a decent example of that (edited for fear of legal action) :-p

I really don’t get why Movie 43 is getting so much grief. Practically every slapstick released in the last two years was worse than it. If you can stomach its raunchy humour, it is actually a really funny movie.

I still actually haven’t seen it in its entirety, but have seen several of the individual sketches. And I have to admit, while I had the occasional chuckle, I really found most of it bordering more on stupid than funny.
That being said though, you’re completely right in that there are WAY, WAY worse slapstick movies that should rather have been lampooned. The same can be said for After Earth. It’s not a great film, but its not a total trainwreck either, but unfortunately there are few things that movie press enjoy more than a pile-on after one of their peers has crucified a movie.
