While the gaming world is screaming for a PS3 price cut it seams that the Xbox 360 is about to break a record… and it’s not a good one.
If the 360 passes July without a price cut it will be the first console to last this long without cutting it’s price.
I for one don’t expect a price cut until after Halo 3 is released. Well put it this way, they are still selling adequetly at the moment and when Halo 3 and BioShock are released they will sell a couple more million consoles. Then by November when all the Halo nuts have a console I would then drop it by $100 (which is what history dictates).
So anyone for a Xbox 360 premium at R2699? That really would hurt the PS3 in South Africa.

I’m pretty sure that all the Halo fans out there already own 360s, the game will sell many millions of copies but i doubt it will sell that many consoles.
I also think M$ is waiting for Sony to price cut so they can do it too.
I’m still praying for a PS3 price cut, but i don’t see that happening anytime soon. Oh well…

Actually, in the state, there are many Halo fans who are still happily playing Halo 2 on their XBOX. Waiting for Halo3 to upgrade.

Correct. The Halo 2 LIVE servers still have a lot of players who havent upgraded to the X360. MS at the moment can afford to avoid a price cut, something the P$3 is still suffering from.

Sounds like me, happily playing on my PS2 until MGS4, Lair, GT5 etc come out.
Would be an interesting stat to see how many PS2 owners are waiting to upgrade, and how many have given up on the pirce and moved over to the 360.

Mario which is why the rumours of Microsoft stealing MGS are so appealing… There are many PS2 owners who are just waiting for that game to upgrade. IF it comes to the 360 as well it will be a major blow to Sony.

That would hurt Sony, but i just can’t see it happening (maybe that’s just denial).
Actually, i think the 360 is a very good console but i will buy the PS3 for all the games i have come to love over the years through the PS1 and PS2. So even if MGS4 goes to the 360 they’ll still have to get GT5, GoW etc.
Halo my be fantastic, but it has no history with me so i don’t get hyped for it at all.
Now if M$ got an exclusive cricket game that was actually any good i may very well be swayed.

MGS & FF dont appeal to me at all and with the expanding game’s list moving from the PS3 arena to the X360 I find fewer and fewer games to expect on that platform. Basically I am mostly enjoying the BR aspect of the PS3 and some of its PSN titles plus backwards compatible games.
