Last night Treyarch unleashed the official Zombie mode trailer on the world and with it a large amount of information was also released by websites such as Joystiq
Trailer first
Yes you will be fighting zombies on a bus but at the same time you will be fighting them off a bus as well and using the bus to travel between zombie infected areas.
But it’s actually a lot more complicated than that. What we are seeing up above is a Zombie mode called Tranzit (annoying isn’t it), where you are placed in a huge open world game and the idea is to make your way across the map wiping out zombies. This is a 1 to 4 player mode.
You can either use the bus to travel which is safer but can lead to you being trapped in the bus or you could simply walk across the large map and possibly be ambushed along the way.
The next mode, yes multiple modes, is called Survival which is your standard zombie mode you know and love that places you in a set location that you can barricade and then you hold out for as long as you can. Again this is for 1 to 4 players
The third mode is called Grief and this mode caters for up to 8 players in two teams. It’s human vs human vs zombies with the winners being the team that outlasts the other human team. You can’t however kill the other humans but you can grief them in ways that haven’t yet been explained yet.
Personally I’m loving the idea of Tranzit mode mainly because it looks very much like Left 4 Dead 2 but Grief mode has a possibility of also being pretty addictive.
Zombie mode has come a long way from being a throw away fun inclusion in World at War.
