Plans for Men in Black franchise helmer Barry Sonnenfeld’s collaboration with legendary comic writer Grant Morrison, was first announced more than a year ago. Titled Dominion: Dinosaurs vs Aliens, it would be released as both a graphic novel as well as an animated feature film.

Since then we haven’t seen all that much about it, but now a new motion comic trailer for the graphic novel has been released which gives us our first hints as to what the film will be like. And if there was ever any doubt that a combination of Grant Morrison, aliens and dinosaurs would be badass, this should quickly rid you of those notions.

Just from a visual aesthetic standpoint alone, I am really liking what I’m seeing. And yes, I admit that this is either just my raging Grant Morrison fanboyism that’s clearly clouding my judgement here, or my inner 8-year old having his mind blown, but any story with the potential to have a Tyrannosaurus Rex facing off against an alien mothership is one that I can surely get behind.

Besides for the motion comic trailer, Yahoo Movies! also uploaded a 3 part interview with the two creators, where it was revealed that Morrison will be penning both the comic and movie and that he has it all planned out as a trilogy of films.

At the 48 sec mark it looks like some dinosaurs have tusks tied to them… Looks interesting, but are they doing the whole film as a motion comic? The tagline at the end of the trailer calls this a motion comic series.

From what I’ve read, it’s going to be a graphic novel which will also have an online motion comic version, but then there will be a feature film, which won’t be an exact duplicate, but vary slightly.
