Horror seems to be back in fashion these days, with suspense and thrillers a close second on TV. So what’s the next big show on the cards? That could be Guillermo Del Toro’s vampire virus series, The Strain. The show arrives in July. Here’s a quick nip on the neck to get you interested.
I’m pretty much sold, because every teaser for the show thus far has had that hint of Del Toro style. And it’s about damn time that he put his mark back on that genre of frights and chills. The show debuts soon, and is based on the books written by Del Toro and Chuck Hogan in which a team of scientists battle to stop a virus that confers vampirism on its victims. The Strain stars Corey Stoll, Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland, and Miguel Gomez. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go double-check my body bags. Which I have a perfectly good excuse for having.
