It's a violent video clip blowout for Jason Statham's Safe

If you had to describe Jason Statham in a single word, you would probably not settle on Safe. Although it would more than likely be a “safe” bet that while you were standing around pondering adjectives about the bald-headed cockney brawler, he would already have launched one of his limbs with violent and deadly force into at least one of your internal organs.

That’s just the way the guy rolls.

It’s not the most elaborate skillset but it certainly grabs your attention. And sometimes even your trachea. As you can see in these 3 new clips that were released for his latest excuse to punch people in the brain film.

First up is the new UK trailer, which tells you pretty much everything you need to know about the film’s plot: Essentially it’s Bruce Willis’ Mercury Rising just with more Asians and kicking.

Did they really just describe Statham as “New York’s hardest cop”? Clearly I need to learn to keep up to date with current affairs, because I had no idea that we had invented a global time machine and was back in the 90’s again.

Next is the the new 1 minute TV spot which runs dual roles of being exciting as well as informative, as we discover that yes indeed, trachea’s can break.

And finally, we have a new clip simply titled “Alley” where we learn that Statham, never one to stagnate in his art, will occasionally swap out his knuckles and feet for a solid ol’ car bumper.

I’m going to make a few predictions right now that despite this film probably having a very generic and by the numbers storyline, Statham will find a way to rack up a body count even higher than that little Asian girl can count. Also there will more than likely be an Asian guy with a dragon tattoo wearing dark sunglasses and a sneer on his face, and at least one person is getting punched betwixt his nethers.

But let’s face it, we don’t really love Jason Statham movies for any other reasons, do we?

And here’s the synopsis for those of you that still need Statham to have a reason for punching people:

Jason Statham stars as ex-Government agent turned second-rate cage fighter on the mixed martial arts circuit, Luke Wright, who lives a numbing life of routine beatings and chump change… until the day he blows a rigged fight. Wanting to make an example of him, the Russian Mafia murders his family and banishes him from his life forever, leaving Luke to wander the streets of New York destitute, haunted by guilt, and tormented by the knowledge that he will always be watched, and anyone he develops a relationship with will also be killed. But when he witnesses a frightened twelve-year-old Chinese girl, Mei, being pursued by the same gangsters who killed his wife, Luke impulsively jumps to action — and straight into the heart of a deadly high-stakes war. Mei, he discovers, is no ordinary girl, but an orphaned math prodigy forced to work for the Triads as a “counter.” He discovers she holds in her memory a priceless numerical code that the Triads, the Russian mob and a corrupt faction of the NYPD will kill for. Realizing he’s the only person Mei can trust, Luke tears a swath through the city’s brutal underworld to save an innocent girl’s life — …and perhaps even redeem his own

I should add that Jason Statham vs. New York City seems like fair odds.
