Midweek Movie Mouth-Off: your favourite rainy day movie

Last week we had some crazy heat here in Joburg, and thank goodness that’s broken. Now, the weather’s all about thunderstorms, hail and cold rain. I’m not complaining, we seriously needed a break from the heatwave, but that kind of weather does make it difficult to go out in the evenings. Never mind socialising, I just want to curl up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and watch movies.

The ideal rainy day movie for me is all about escapism. I want something to cheer me up, keep me cosy and make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So basically, anything by Pixar. Probably The Incredibles because I could watch that a million times and still not get sick of it. Or Monsters Inc. because when it comes to feel-good, that movie has it in spades.

So what about you? Maybe you prefer a classic, like The Princess Bride, Ferris Beuller’s Day Off or The Breakfast Club. You could maybe start on a trilogy like Lord of the Rings, or marathon some Harry Potter. When it comes to stay-at-home weather, what do you want to watch?

sounds about right. wish I could get those phase 1 and 2 collection editions, but man…that’s pricey. And what would I do with all the ones I already have?!
