Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy Season 2 confirmed

After the massive success of the quirky, off-the-wall and deliciously vicious adaptation of The Umbrella Academy, it was just a matter of time before Netflix announced a second season. Not that I was particularly worried, but it’s always a relief to hear that one of your favourite shows is being renewed!

Netflix have confirmed via press statement that Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min are all set to reprise their roles, with additional casting news for season two to be announced at a later date.

The dream-team of Steve Blackman (Showrunner and Executive Producer),
Jeff F. King (EP), Mike Richardson (EP), Keith Goldberg (EP), Gerard Way (Co-EP), and Gabriel Bá (Co-EP) will also return.

Along with a mini-announcement trailer (spoilers for Season 1 if you haven’t watched it yet), it was confirmed that Season 2 will have the same episodic format, with filming of the new ten-episode season kicking off in Toronto, Canada this summer.

Can’t wait. Also, you mention this summer. Do you mean Canadian summer or our summer, because that makes a world of difference to me.

    I need more dammit!

Canadian summer – so our winter. As in, it should start filming now now 🙂

Now we can finally move on from that cliffhanger. I’m all for a season where we get to see more of them while at the academy, kicking crimes butt.

Though the story of the first was pretty much heroes 2.0 I really loved the series, the characters are great and it’s good fun.

I haven’t even watched the first season yet. Best I get to it then, I suppose!
