Return to District 12 with these new pics and trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1

Contrary to popular belief, Jennifer Lawrence actually has more coming out in the next few months than just some more leaked cellphone pics. And the biggest entry on the young Oscar winner’s calendar is undoubtedly The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, the first part of the final chapter in the record breaking YA adaptation franchise.

This is literally the beginning of the end for Katniss and co, and so it’s pretty fitting that this chilling new teaser trailer has the bow-slinging rebellion leader going back to District 12, her home and the place where this whole mess started.

The worldwide phenomenon of “The Hunger Games” continues to set the world on fire with “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage.

Along with that ghostly trip down memory lane, we also have a whole bunch of new pics courtesy of The Playlist, that show off Lawrence’s Katniss along with most of her supporting cast, including the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee and the striking hairstyle/tattoo combination of Natalie Dormer’s Cressida (no relation to the old Toyota).

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 was directed by returning helmer Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, I Am Legend, Constantine) and also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. It is scheduled for release on November 21, 2014.
