I have some bad news for you today, folks. We had all thought the massive market surge in new pants sales has stabilized since everyone has now seen The Conjuring, but it does seem like we are in for a little bit more terror, this time courtesy of the unsung star of James Wan’s fright fest…the doll Annabelle.
John Leonetti, filmographer for The Conjuring, have returned with the scribes Chad and Carrey Hayes, and work has already started on a prequel starring everyone’s favourite terrifying demon-possessed doll. We already had a taste of what her adventures can be like in The Conjuring and I think this might be a very good idea…though the fact that James Wan won’t be attached to the project is naturally a let down.
It is also unsure whether this will be a higher budget feature film or a direct-to-DVD budget release, but I’ll definitely be hoping for the best. What we do know, however, is what was mentioned earlier: Annabelle’s yet untitled film (Pro-tip: I think they should go with “Annabelle”) is set to be a prequel, following her “adventures” from before she crossed paths with Ed an Lorraine Warren.
So, what do you think? Is there space for more Annabelle in our lives? Oh, and for interest’s sake, have a look at what the real Annabelle looks like…

Is it just me or was the original doll creepier?
