THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY just got Batista-bombed

Getting a cast together for the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy is no small task. You’ve got characters that range from a talking tree, an anthropomorphic wise-ass raccoon and an augmented human warrior. That’s a lot of roles that need to be filled out.

But when it comes to the part of big huge green-skinned warrior dude, well there’s only one choice for that role in Hollywood it seems.

Freshly cast as Drax the Destroyer, Dave Bautista will be getting a slathering of green paint thrown onto his massive frame. He’ll takes on the role of the resurrected human who died at the hands of big bad Thanos, only to find himself resurrected into the body of a green-skinned powerhouse, seeking vengeance for his untimely demise.

Originally rumoured to be a part for Jason “Game of thrones” Momoa, the role of Drax shouldn’t be too hard for Bautista to pull off. He’s been playing powerhouses in film and television ever since he left the WWE sports entertainment business a couple of years ago, and as a physical performer, he’s pretty damn good.

Which should be more than enough for Drax, when Guardians of the Galaxy releases next year August.

  1. This makes sense. I can see him in this role quite nicely.

While Bautista is certainly a physical match, and Drax is more a man of action rather than words, in between those words he broods with the best of ’em.

I don’t know if Bautista has the acting chops to pull off that smoldering rage in the quieter moments.
