Swearing is not cool, kids. Well, except maybe when delivered by Christopher Walken. I don’t think there’s a single line of dialogue, no matter how crude and base, whose cool quotient isn’t exponentially increased when coming from him.
And while he seems to be on top foul-mouthed scene-stealing form in writer-director Martin “In Bruges” McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths, it looks like he’ll have six other unstable klepto-thespian’s to contend with, starting with Collin Farrell and Sam Rockwell.
Written and Directed by Oscar-winner Martin McDonagh , the comedy “Seven Psychopaths” follows a struggling screenwriter (Colin Farrell) who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell) kidnap a gangster’s (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu.
This looks to just be a barrel of oddball fun. Barring the minor hiccup of the Total Recall reboot – our review of which should hopefully be done this weekend – and even then most reviewers agree that Farrell does the best with what he has, Farrell has had a great run that for many people – myself included – started with his previous collaboration with McDonagh in In Bruges.
With the great talent that’s been assembled for this one, Seven Psychopaths is looking great. And f—ing crazy!
