There's some feckin' good entertainment in this trailer for GRABBERS

I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for comedy originating in the UK. From Monty Python and Father Ted, through to the IT Crowd and Men behaving badly, there’s some surprisingly good laughs hidden in some clever lines and situations, from TV show to full on movie.

I’m hoping some of that humour will emerge though, in the upcoming Grabbers, a movie set in a small Welsh town, which happens to be under attack from Japanese Nightmare Fuel.

The film has been finished for a while now, having premiered at Sundance last year, with Empire describing it as a “romantic but surprisingly scary monster movie that feels like a lost Amblin flick, shaken and stirred with a dash of The Guard.”

It’s finally been picked up for distribution though, although no exact date has been given, besides an August one for Wales. Set in a small Irish village, the film kicks off when police officers Ciaran O’Shea and new arrival Lisa Nolan have to put aside their differences in order to combat a menacing invasion of tentacled creatures, creatures who may be able to suck a human dry of blood, but are allergic to alcohol.

The cops and population will have to band together to survive the night at their favourite pub, as they fight back one pint at a time. It’s a small film, but the laughs look big, and I can’t wait for this potential gem of a film to arrive.

I’m pretty certain that this is the film that Gavin would make if he was a movie director.

I hate to be a stickler, but this article first claims its set in a Welsh town, and then switches to an Irish village
