Let’s be fair, Jude Law is not exactly known for playing tough guys. In the metaphorical scheme of things, he’s generally about as hard as a Marie biscuit left in some weak tea for an hour. But that may all just change with brilliant looking Dom Hemingway. Law plays the titular character, a mutton-chopped, beer swilling, safe shagging rabble rouser and occasional nudist who boasts the Khaleesi as a daughter and an one handed Richard E. Grant as his… well, right hand man. And judging from this first trailer, they all seem to be having quite the crazy time.

Jude Law plays Dom Hemingway, a larger-than-life safecracker with a loose fuse who is funny, profane, and dangerous. After twelve years in prison, he sets off with his partner in crime Dickie (Richard E. Grant) looking to collect what he’s owed for keeping his mouth shut and protecting his boss Mr. Fontaine (Demián Bechir). After a near death experience, Dom tries to re-connect with his estranged daughter (Emilia Clarke), but is soon drawn back into the only world he knows, looking to settle the ultimate debt.

That looks like a f!@#ing riot! Early buzz – as indicated by all the testimonials in that trailer – has been really strong thus far, and while I was really looking forward to this previously, now I absolutely cannot wait to see it.

Dom Hemingway will be strolling into your cinema naked on April 14, 2014.
