Sons of Anarchy may be dead and buried, but its creator sure isn’t done with TV just yet. So what’s next for Kurt Sutter, now that his legendary series of bikers, bullets and motorcycles has ridden off into the sunset?
Why, a jump into the past it seems, with a TV show that is rocking a death metal band name. Here’s your first look at The Bastard Executioner:
Bastard Executioner tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward The Thirds charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again, he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.
That looks like some bloody good fun actually, with the bastard in the title clearly referring to the fact that this show is the illegitimate seed of Braveheart, Game of Thrones and Kingdom of Heaven.
The show stars Lee Jones, Stephen Moyer, Timothy Murphy and Katey Sagal. It’ll debut on TV later this year.
