This new trailer for THE WOLVERINE will accept your surrender

And Trailer Thursday continues! And this time we’re going metal! No, stop throwing the horns and take off that manky Slayer t-shirt. I mean metal as in all the adamantium claw and samurai sword action that can be found in this new trailer for The Wolverine that gives us a lot of new footage, including a much lengthier look at the cyber Silver Samurai, as well as showing us exactly how not to get a lovely tan for Summer.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern-day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world, he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality. Story by Christopher McQuarrie.

I’m still not sold on this new megazord Silver Samurai. Seems just a tad bit too anime for my liking. However, I can’t fault the rest of what I’m seeing, as adding ninjas to anything is already an automatic win. Also, somebody needs to tell that Viper lady that that’s not quite how you do a face lift.

Along with this new trailer, a new image of the film was recently released, showing a quote from star Hugh Jackman as the titular Logan apparently experiencing a bowel movement, or smelling a bowel movement or something. Berserker bran rage?

The Wolverine slices ‘n dices into cinemas on July 26, 2013.
