One of my all time favourite directors, Guy Ritchie, has been far too quiet as of late. Following on from two cracking Sherlock Holmes movies, we’ve heard little from the Rock ‘n Rolla of cinematographa. Looks like being quiet and under the radar may have all been some solid practice for the director though, as he’ll be stepping up to the plate to tackle the cult classic series The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
And he’s enlisted a veteran spy to help him do so. I’ll give you a clue who it is. Even I’m taller than him. Which is something that makes myself, Richard Hammond and Daniel Radcliffe in a position to do an awesome mid-high-five.
With Steven Soderbergh out of the project due to him picking up something called “retirement”, the Snatch-master himself, Guy Ritchie has thrown his hat into the ring for this espionage caper. Tom Cruise is in negatiotians right now to join the United Network Command of Law Enforcement, and take the battle to THRUSH in a series that was more light-hearted and fun than other contemporaries such as Mission Impossible, at the time that it was conceived.
It’s still early days on the negotiating table right now, as Cruise has a fifth Mission Impossible film lined up with Christopher McQuarrie possibly directing, as well as another shot at the pair of them going for a new Jack Reacher film.
Oh, and he’ll also be seen in the upcoming Oblivion this year in April, followed by All You Need is Kill next year March.
