The less said about X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the better. The more said about James Mangold’s The Wolverine however, the even better. That flick returned Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman to a badass level not seen in many a year, as he arrived in Japan with a vengeance, adding trendy new claw-shaped scars to the majority of the Yakuza and ninja population of that land. It was a fantastic movie, and I can’t imagine anyone not wanting to see Mangold and Jackman team up again for a third solo Wolverine movie.
And that movie will begin filming next year. Mangold replied to a question from a fan about when the movie when begin shooting. Here’s his response:
@R_0_B_89 early next year.

Recently, Jackman has had a change of heart regarding the role that has come to define him, thanks to Michael Keaton’s award-winning acting in Birdman. As he told EW last month, Jackman is happy to play Wolverine until he dies:
I said to my wife, ‘The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine. I’ve got to find a way to keep playing him until I die.’ I know that someday they’ll recast the role with another actor…I’d be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic.
Hell, I’d kill for an Old Man Logan movie with an aged Jackman. The next couple of years are going to be filled with mutants. Deadpool is busy filming, X-Men: Apocalypse is set for May 2016 and Wolverine 3 will apparently follow in March 2017. Because Wolverine is the best there is at what he does bub. And what does, is make money for 20th Century Fox.
