Zack Snyder teases an image of the new Batmobile

It’s almost exactly a year since director Zack Snyder and co set Comic Con’s Hall H ablaze with the announcement of Batman VS Superman, and in that time we’ve seen… well, nothing. Nada. Zilch. Outside of a string of casting announcements, and pics of Gal Gadot’s “guns”, we’ve only heard a lot of rumours and hearsay – most of them involving Ben Affleck’s newly redesigned Batsuit.

Well, that’s just changed as Snyder dropped an unexpected bomb on Twitter last night, revealing a teasing first look at another fan favourite Bat-item: The Batmobile.

Firstly, Snyder accompanied the image with a message saying “Could be time to pull the tarp…Tomorrow?”, meaning that we’ll probably be seeing a full unveil later today.

Secondly, HOLY FRACKING AWESOME SET OF WHEELS, BATMAN! While most of Bat’s new ride is still obscured, I am already loving it. Based on what we can see, along with what is just hinted at by the contours, we appear to have the rugged, all-terrain tankishness of the Tumbler used in Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, combined with the sleek, finned, Corvette-based Batmobile used in Tim Burton’s Batman. And that, my friends, sounds amazing.

As soon as Snyder unveils the full vehicle (or anything else), we’ll post something up, but until then I’m just going to stare at that beautiful behind all day. I am of course still talking about the car.

Looks like it’s back to the flat, streamline car. Love that. Whatever it’s going to look like, it’ll take a lot to be better than the car from the Original Animated Series

I’m anticipating (and slightly hoping) for the classic grey-ish blue batsuit.

Well that’s what has been hinted at. The clues point to Jim Lee’s design from Hush being used as the inspiration.
