Are EB Games recalling Resident Evil over the one save issue?

Yesterday I posted up the news that the upcoming Resident Evil on 3DS will essentially be a single play through title and now today a rumour has arrived stating that EB Games in Australia may be issuing a recall on the game for this very reason.

While I initially thought they may be doing this to take a stand against this ridiculous idea but not it’s actually a bit more serious for them.

At EB Games in Australia you can return any game purchased within 7 days for a full refund as long as it’s in perfectly new condition. Something that cannot be done with Resident Evil Mercenaries since as soon as you put that game in your 3DS it’s pre-owned.

This would then cause them some awful legal issues and so they are apparently issuing a full recall of the title to ensure they don’t get caught out by this.

I wonder how much fuss we as gamers need to make before Capcom releases a patch that creates a reset save file button?
