Minecraft is one of those terrible games that eats your time right before your very eyes. I just need to build this, oh but I need to mine that, ooooh check out that hill… I’M GOING ON AN ADVENTURE! I’ve spent many an hour punching away at trees with my fists. Perhaps I can do something more productive with my time now, by not only building a city, but managing it too.

Say hello to Simburbia, the unspoken love child between Minecraft and SimCity. Check out the trailer.

Seems pretty interesting actually. The creator describes at as such (Kotaku via Jigarbov):

Simburbia is a custom map for Minecraft. It is a city simulator system (SimCity in Minecraft) with plot relationships, power systems, overlays, money, population, abandonment, and of course, disasters.

So it really is just Minecraft at the end of the day, except that you have an entire city to run and a population to care for. Personally, I would be heartbroken to see my hard work turning to dust thanks to any random natural disasters, but defending my city from any surprise mob attacks does actually sound like a lot of fun.

The developer has been nice enough to put a video together which discusses the optimal way to play the game as well as how best to run your server.

Seems like a decent enough way to waste time if you find your original Minecraft experience is lacking something. Be sure to check out Jigarbov.net if you’re interested in downloading it!

Is that how you treat someone who felt sorry for you and added a comment so that there would be some action on your article? Huh? huh?

I will remember this one. My mission for the rest of the week is to get you to have an article with 0 comments! I shall employ the powers of mods to help me to this end if I have to! [insert evil laugh here]
