Death Stranding is set to release in just a few weeks and despite a myriad of spoilers somehow making their way onto the Internet, mostly everyone still has absolutely no idea what that game is about. Despite that, it certainly looks interesting as acclaimed director Hideo Kojima has pulled in favours from a host of verified A-grade Hollywood material to star (and cameo) in his bizarre sci-fi adventure game. The likes of Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Toro will all be featured as characters to some extent in the main story but what’s going to be more fascinating is trying to pin down all the smaller guest appearances dotted throughout the game, especially now that we know Conan O’Brien will make an appearance.

Wearing a sea otter outfit to boot.

O’Brien joins Death Stranding alongside The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley as an in-game “prepper”; a stranger you’ll meet in your travels that can hand out supplies and rewards for delivering packages to them. In the tweet posted by Kojima, it seems that O’Brien’s character will hand you your very own sea otter outfit that makes it easy to swim in and paddle out of rivers, because OBVIOUSLY. He also seems to be really hamming it up for the player, delivering some ridiculous jokes and one-liners that are so terrible they circle all the way around to be funny.

Honestly, this game seems so huge that there are probably way more cameos dotted around Death Stranding for players to discover. Kojima, if you read this, put Danny Devito in a trash can and let him be a companion throughout the game. I beg of you.
