Colin MacDonald of Realtime Worlds effectively killed the rumour that Ruffian was developing Crackdown 2.
In a message sent to Videogamer247, he stated that there were ongoing discussions between Microsoft and RTW regarding the development of the sequel to Crackdown. However, nothing is set in stone given RTW are very busy with All-Points Bulletin and another project that has yet to be formally announced. So it would make sense for some of the old Crackdown team members to work on it, right?
Wrong.
Straight from MacDonald’s mouth:
“In any event, I also very much doubt that Microsoft would harm an otherwise fruitful existing development relationship by gambling on funding Crackdown 2 with a startup on RTW’s doorstep, for obvious reasons.“
So its now a waiting game to see if/when Crackdown 2 is developed, and more importantly, by whom.
#1, try and make it so…
