Remember that incredible trailer for the first Dead Island? The one that generated so much hype for the zombie survival RPG that it just couldn’t live up to? It looks like publisher Deep Silver is trying to recreate that with this, the first CGI trailer for the game’s sequel, Riptide. The first game really wasn’t terrible – but it sure as hell could have done with an extra level of polish, so you can question their game-making ability, but certainly not their ability to make emotional trailers.
Here’s what Deep Silver says of Riptide
"Furious monsoon rainstorms have laid waste to the island of Palanai in the Banoi archipelago, waters have risen and caused a flood disaster – because of this and the raging zombie invasion, a rescue mission for the survivors seems to be without prospect of success. All hope seems to have been lost for the surviving humans."
Riptide adds in a new character, skills, multiplayer features and hub defence missions – and hopefully keeps the delicious co-op intact. It’ll be out next year on Pc, Ps3 and Xbox 360.
