Borderlands 2 received a nifty update yesterday that saw the Mechromancer class added to the badass ranks. Well, those ranks that weren’t wiped out thanks to a certain glitch that is. There’s more coming, as the season pass detailed, but what exactly will we buying ourselves then? Well according to some internet detective work, there’s some brand new locations on the way in that future DLC.
Shack News dug through several Borderlands 2 achievements, and discovered clues to a new desert town location by the name of Oasis, as well as a possible update by the name of “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty.”
One such new achievement, Gadabout, rewards players for discovering “all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate’s Booty areas”, setting up the potential new area to explore and gunzerk in.
Another new content clue uncovered on the PC version of the game points towards a new vendor that will sell players rare and elite loot, but only in exchange for “Seraph Crystals”. And considering how one bug kept me from claiming a Legendary SMG last night, that has me excited.
The first Borderlands had some truly terrific DLC, that kept the story flowing, from the zombie shenanigans through to a Claptrap revolution that ended where it all began. If the upcoming DLC can recapture that charm, then it looks like I’ll be playing Borderlands 2 for even longer than expected.
