EA announces that Cricket ‘09 does not exist

In a major blow to cricket fans everywhere, EA Games has announced that Cricket 09 is not in production.

Peter Moore has had to come out and make a statement as the rumour about Cricket 09 has started to get out of hand due to the shear number of cricket fans pushing for this game to appear.

According to Mr Moore

“Despite whatever you may have read online, we have absolutely nothing to announce about a cricket game”

And

“As per my previous posts on this issue, if and when we have an announcement to make about a title, we will do so in a timely and structured manner. But in this case, no amount of persistent pushing can create a game that does not exist…sorry”

Which leaves us with no doubt that a cricket game is not in production but it does leave us wondering why not? If the cricket fans could make enough noise to get this sort of response isn’t that a bit enough market to ensure that making the game is worthwhile?

Hopefully we get to see Cricket 2010 I guess?
