ESL Africa – Bravado Gaming and Energy Esports battle for the top spot tonight

ESL Africa, which has been ongoing for the past few months, is reaching the final stages of their first premier season in South Africa. Teams have been playing throughout the group stages on a strict schedule following a professional weekly broadcast from the Kwese Sports Studio in Johannesburg. Two teams have been neck-and-neck for the top spot, and you’d never guess who they are… Bravado Gaming and Energy Esports.

The only difference between tonight’s final and previous meetings between the two teams (spoiler: every single tournament), is the recent addition of Robby “blackpoisoN” Da Loca, a former Bravado player who was a crucial part of their line-up throughout 2016. The addition of Da Loca would mean a different atmosphere in tonight’s game as the top two teams in the country go head-to-head. Energy posted a 6-0, which they’re hoping to make a 7-0 with a clean sweep of Bravado Gaming.

Here’re Energy’s results so far:

  • wins VexxedPhoenix
  • wins Damage Control – CSGO
  • wins xTc Gaming
  • wins EXDEE GAMING
  • wins Flipsid3 Africa
  • wins Big 5 eSports

Bravado, on the other hand, drew one match in the group stages, placing them second:

  • wins VexxedPhoenix
  • wins Damage Control – CSGO
  • wins Flipsid3 Africa
  • wins Big 5 eSports
  • wins xTc Gaming
  • draws EXDEE GAMING

The match will be streamed live on Twitch and Facebook starting at 19:30.

We’re still awaiting confirmation, but there’s apparently a cash prize for the placing in the top tonight. First place will see R150,000 and second R100,000. Energy Esports, being 6-0, will need to win just one map (tying the match if needed) against Bravado Gaming. This will see Energy taking the top spot leading up the Grand Final later this year, and one step closer to the R2 million Championship title.
