Eurogamer 360 vs PS3 Round 10

image It’s the next round in the now regular Eurogamer 360 vs PS3 cross platform face off.

If you remember back to the beginning of this month when they published round 9 where the Xbox 360 beat the PS3 5-0?

Actually so far throughout the entire series the 360 has been comfortably on top, so has this trend continued?

Well it seems like it has but the PS3 has started fighting back now.

Lets take a brief look and then you can click through to view all the indepth technical details in the main article.

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 – Tie
I was told the 360 won this round but after reading the article it does seem like this game it a tie.

Blacksite: Area 51 – Xbox 360
Not only did the 360 win this round but the PS3 version was slammed. Basically it was said that this is the worst PS3 game ever to be released to retail… ouch

Army of Two – Xbox 360 (but only just)
The versions are identical however when they started taking the screenshots they noticed that the PS3 version actually had a static border around the screen in what is assumed to be a fix for framerate issues?

Conflict Denied Ops – Xbox 360
The 360 version was obviously the development lead and as such is just better than the PS3 version

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Xbox 360
Strangely after an extra 15 months of development the PS3 version only just matches the 360 version. However it’s mandatory 5 Gig install knocks it down. It was also mentioned that the reviewer has had to start deleting things from the PS3’s harddrive to fit these games on. I would like to take this moment to say I told you so

Dynasty Warriors – PS3
The PS3 finally takes one. However the actual gameplay was identical and the only reason it won was because the developers could fit prettier CG video’s onto the Blu-Ray drive. So is this the first game to utilise the size of the Blu-Ray storage to beat out the Xbox 360? Is it going to become the norm… we will have to wait and see

Lost: The Video Game – Xbox 360
Once again a game which was led on the Xbox 360 just didn’t make the port across very well at all. Basically this game is considerably better on the 360 in virtually every way. You have to say it’s a bit of a let down from the developer as it isn’t a very intensive game.

And that’s it… I take the score to be

Xbox 360 – 4
PS3         – 1
Tie          – 1

It’s an improvement but I am pretty sure the PS3 fans would really like to see a total win one of these days and as I said before. The base article is very detailed with all the technical backing it requires, so no complaining about bias please…

About Lost… not sure if this is just my TV. But i noticed lots of image tearing when walking through the forest areas. The forests were pretty detailed actually, and if not optimised properly i can see it bringing putting strain on the processor.

Does the PS3 also have the image tearing problem ?

Hey Lazy, when are you going to report on the weekly sale figures for Europe? You know, now that the MASSIVE pice cut has had time to take effect? 🙂

Milesh, there were apparently issues with both, but the PS3 was the worse of the two.

no offence, but 6 out of 7 of those games have terrible graphics anyway, on anything. stuff like cod4 or gta 4 or mgs4……oops, ps3 only (:P). my point being, these evil evil games, that should not have made their way out of satans rectum should not be used to compare console graphics!!!

If you bothered to read the actual review you’d have seen the discussion on the results. Criticism is directed at the developer, not the platform – RSV2 and Blacksite are both UT3, but the one is fine the other sucks – the developers are taking the flack not your dearly beloved PS3.
