FFD: What are you most looking forward to from this year’s E3?

1 min read

This morning, waking from the first sleep I’ve had since I travelled to MSI’s headquarters, it really dawned on me that the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo was set to kick off this weekend. I’ve been existing in a sort of foggy haze this past week – and though I’ve seen new about E3 and the escalating hype around 2016’s gamer Christmas, it’s all been pushed back in to the recesses of my brain.

Anyway, now that I’ve finally woken up and realised that, by golly, E3 starts this bloody weekend I’m getting excited. I know, I’m meant to be cynical and grumpy and not get caught up in the hype of it all – but there’s just so much about E3 to love. Of course, there will be new games shown, and there will be crazy E3 moments and memes – and of course we’ll get to find out more details about games that already know are coming.

E3’s at its best for me when there are genuine surprises. It doesn’t happen too often anymore, thanks to a very, very leaky internet – but when those surprises happen, and the gaming side of the internet just explodes, E3 becomes very, very special indeed.

So yea, I’m looking most forward to being surprised this year. What are you most looking forward to?

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
