Unless you’re swimming in expendable income, it’s impossible for the average gamer to own every platform and play every great game. Whether it’s because of budgetary constraints, a lack of time, or because the damned games or their systems weren’t released locally – there has to be a bunch of games that you really wished you could play, but couldn’t.
for me, that would essentially be all of the great games released on the Saturn, like Panzer Dragoon Saga, NiGHTS in to Dreams, Astal and Burning Rangers. I also never got to play the sequel to Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross on the PlayStation – because the game never got a European release. and of course, there was pretty much everything on the Neo Geo, because the thing cost $600 back in the 90’s – so that was just always an unattainable thing.
If we go further back, as a a kid, when I used to flip through comic books I always saw adverts for games I really wished I could play. In the mid eighties, this was was probably the biggest one. This advert taunted me from the back of just about every single comic book I picked up.
Yes, I was a huge He-Man fan, and no I never got to play the game (probably for the best, because by all accounts it was complete crap). So what games (new and old!) have just been outside of your reach, that you’ve longingly wished you could play?
