Fight Night Round 4 – Xbox 360 vs PS3

The Fight Night series has constantly pushed the boundaries of what the consoles can do graphically and this fourth version of the series is no exception.

So with that being the case lets get back to one of our favourite topics.. If you have both consoles which one should you pick up and more importantly, which fanboy base gets to gloat more?

Hover over the images to see the opposing screen and then if you need more clarification head on over Cynamite.de to check out the larger images.

The first thing I noticed is that the PS3 version seems to have more assets on the screen at one time which is normally proof that they are squeezing more power out of the respective CPU.

Not the type of difference that should effect which version you buy. If this is anything like the 3rd one, the 360 should be the obvious choice simply because of the better analogue sticks.

But the 360 version definitely has the better detail and colours and lighting.

Achievements. They are so much better than trophies, so all my Mulitplat titles go to 360.

The detail is much beter on 360. I went to the site and saw that the veins of the fighter was more texturized than the Ps3 version ,and the PS3 had that blur buffer effect… AGAIN!

Got the demo for both and had them both on there optimal settings on the same tv and channel hopped between them. Verdict? ps3 looks a little less colourful by default but once the hdmi black lvls were turned to low-(clever tele) look pretty much the same. Crispness was marginally better on the xbox i think but at some points i was holding the wrong controller for whatever machine i was playing so its not that noticable. Slight lag from the xbox pad…or at least until you stop pushing the sticks to far, even though the sticks have a better resistence than the ps pads they’re just not as quick… But the ps has one ace up its sleave…it has that most special of all fx…screen tearing. Oh yes, that and some sublime frame rate issues make for an engaging experience. Oh and sometimes you suddenly can’t throw a punch or move but can still move the upper body and block, and you actually need to be punched off the spot so you can move again. This new and exciting feature is available on both versions. Oh and the lights above the ring slightly more visable on the 360. Get both. Or none. Can’t decide. :silly:

Oh yeah The ps3s boxers are little more ripped i think or maybe just a bit more detailled. The trade off being frame rate and tearing. Nice one.

just some minor color differences, nothing that will effect what version you get or anything.. i have both systems and i am going to buy it for 360 just cuz you don’t have to download the system data on it..
