NOPE

To this day, I cannot fathom how Five Nights at Freddy’s has seen so many sequels so quickly. I mean, the very first game came out on August the 8th 2014 – not even a full year ago. It seems those evil animatronics wont be dying anytime soon though, as a 4th title is on the way. Its just received a new trailer and release date, and will be launching very soon.

When Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 was first teased in April, it was to be unleashed on Halloween. The developer, Scott Cawthon, has changed his mind however. He has pushed forward his schedule, bringing the release date a whole lot closer. He sent the following email to popular YouTuber, Dawko, who shared it on Reddit (via PC Gamer):

Hey Dawko,

Ok, here is some new for you, and you’re welcome to make a youtube video to announce it if you want!

I’m going to release Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 on august 8th for the 1-year anniversary of Five Nights at Freddy’s. To keep the Halloween date special however, I’ll be working on a free update with extra content to release October 31st. I also plan on having a trailer ready for next weekend!

That’s the news! Do with it what you want!

– Scott

Again, how the hell are we on title number 4 in the space of a year? I’m not even mad… that’s amazing!

Anyways, I first saw the Reddit post yesterday, and I was skeptical about it being legit. I mean, the Internet is big fake playground after all. It seems the earlier launch date is for real though. The following image went up on IndieDB, and is titled “8815” – the 8th of August 2015 no doubt. (via Siliconera):

4.2

The very same image sits on Scott’s official website. Still need more proof? Fine! The game got its very first trailer yesterday, and it looks all sorts of NOPE. Apparently the animatronics are now into house visits…

Hell. No. I don’t think I could bring myself to play that at all!

What about you? Are you excited for FNAF4? The release is less than a month away now!
