Over the weekend a rumour started doing the rounds that you may have seen. It came to light that a new Gears of War was about to be released called Gears of War Ultimate but there was no official word on it yet.
At the time some people once again jumped on the Kinect enabled Gears of War bandwagon and started getting pretty excited by it.
Now I personally think a Kinect enabled Gears of War game is a pretty shoddy idea but it’s one rumour that just won’t disappear. However Microsoft has unofficially confirmed that Gears of War Ultimate will not be a Kinect game and is rather just a bundle of Gears 1 and 2 and some DLC.
Stickskills received this reply from an employee at Microsoft who wishes to remain anonymous.
A clarification In response to your recent article: Microsoft will release a Gears of War bundle this spring. It will be a collection of the first two Gears of War games and a token to download all previously released Gears of War 2 add-ons via Xbox LIVE. It will not include any new or additional features, such as Kinect support.
That’s it… so if you don’t have Gears 1 and 2 yet this will be a nice deal, else there really isn’t much to see here.

If they had Blu ray they could have had Gears 1, 2 and 3 + all DLC on a single disk. 🙂

How would Gears running on a xbox, but from BR = shoddy gfx?
I agree the xbox is a bit ‘lank in die tand’ , but the gears gfx has always been a highlight to me on the 360.

I have a feeling Fox1 was just being rude about the PS3 and not trying to say that Blu-Ray itself makes graphics worse.
I myself was just being sarcastic and would love to have all the Gears titles on one disc…
