Here’s Halo 4’s launch trailer

Halo 4, when it releases next month, is going to be ones of the biggest selling video games in just about ever, everywhere but South Africa, because for some reason we largely don’t care about the franchise. Here’s a trailer for the game that could just change your mind…maybe; directed by Tim Miller and produced by Seven and Fight Club director David Fincher.

There was much fuss made about this trailer when it was first announced that Fincher would be involved. We opted to wait until the actual trailer was released to tell you about it though – because announcements of announcements and impending trailers is not news. Here then, is the actual trailer!

“Master Chief’s mind is violated by a powerful new enemy, who in searching for Chief’s weaknesses, finds the source of his strength,” is the official trailer description.

It’s stylistic and whatnot – but I’m not really impressed. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d prefer for a launch trailer for a game to actually tell us a little bit more about said game. It’s definitely still worth a watch though – and I’d sure as hell watch the hell out of a feature length, Live-action Halo movie.

Now remember – Halo 4is big, big stuff – and even Microsoft SA is getting on board, by hosting a nationwide Halo 4 tournament, that’ll get the team-based or solo winners off to next-year’s Gamescom.

That’s a damned sweet prize – and even if you’re only mildly interested in Halo, you really should sign up – or forever silence your moans about the gaming industry in South Africa not being as awesome as it is in the first world. Enter here!

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
