It’s the most wonderful time, of the year. That’s right, today is my favorite holiday – Halloween. The day when spirits travel the Earth and women dress as slutty versions of… everything. No really, I saw a
slutty sexy Luigi costume I really need to buy for Geoff. Now with that mental image seared into your brains, let’s look at the indie news of the week.
First up, Games Industry spoke to a variety of developers who have left AAA and gone indie. They raved about the move and how it feels to transition into the indie scene. Borut Pfeifer (Plush Apocalypse Productions) gave the choice quote:
After seeing project after project being canceled while I was at EA, I was confident if I was in charge I couldn’t screw up my career any worse than they were.
In between all the news from Steam this week about Halloween sales and whatnot, there is actually some awesome indie news – another 100 games were green lit! There are far too many to mention, but they range from zombie survival games to dating sims, and everything in between. I hope Steam keeps going at this pace – lots of indies getting some much deserved loving.
Bundle up, it’s time for games! Over on the Humble Bundle’s weekly sale, you can pick up some Cipher Prime games like Splice and Fractal. Although, I think the Steam Halloween sale and Good Old Games sale are enough to justify some ala carte bundling of your own.
