Playstation sales up 130%

I received a press release from our local Playstation distributors late last night which had some interesting information hiding inside.

The sales of Sony’s PS3 have increased by over 40% year on year and an incredible 130% since the start of the Holiday season alone. That’s an incredible number and you can see why Sony are so eagre to get this information out there.

They are also stating that 2009 is going to be a bumper year for PS3 gamers with some major games being released like KIllzone 2, MAG, inFamous, Heavy Rain and um.. Eye Pet… Okay let’s just ignore that last one then shall we.

The PlayStation doubters seem to be changing their tune in recent months and it is purely down to the fact that the PS3 is really starting to flex its muscles now, it’s taken longer than we hoped but this year is looking really good for Sony.

Though is it just me or did they miss putting God of War 3 and Gran Turismo in this press release?
