Despite being one of the biggest franchises around, Pokémon ain’t exactly known for releasing collector’s editions of their various games. What you generally get, is a game, a box and a manual if you’re lucky. And I’m fine with that. And I’m also more than fine with falling off the wagon, caving in and buying this special edition of the upcoming Ruby and Sapphire remakes.

Nintendo has announced that they’ll be offering a collector’s edition which includes the game, a steelbook case and depending on the version you get, a legendary figure of Primal Kyogre or Primal Gourdon. Sexy. In the UK, the collector’s edition is exclusive to the GAME franchise, but it will also be available on the official Nintendo store for everyone else.

And carrying on with the new trend of making a limited edition actually limited, this one is also going to be available in limited quantities. I’m betting the Primal Groudon figure will sell out first, because that dude just looks bitchin’. Want one? Start saving up then. It’ll cost you £39.99, or around R706. Is that madness for a figure that is only a little bit bigger than the 3DS cartridge? Yes, yes it is. Also shut up, I want it.

  1. Does look pretty nice. I always buy both games… I’ll be a sucker and get both limited ones this time round as well.

Really want that limited edition but until I can somehow incorporate a nice glass display case in my tiny house for such things I will hold back 🙂
