Pokémon Sword and Shield TM location guide–Where to find False Swipe, Phantom Force and more

Ever wanted to give your favourite pocket monster an upgrade but you didn’t have the time to wait for it to learn a new move the old-fashioned way? Well good news, because TMs are once again a core part of the experience that is Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield! There’s a split this year between these teaching devices, as Sword and Shield has both TMs and TRs.

Long and short of it, is that TMs can be used as many times as you like whereas TRs are one-shot teaching tools. Quick note: I’m still working on being more precise with this guide, but I’ll update in the days to come with more images and exact locations. For now, here’s where you can find every TM in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

TM00 Mega Punch

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far right.

TM01 Mega Kick

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far right.

TM03 Fire Punch

Can be bought from the Wyndon Poke Mart in front of the stadium.

TM04 Ice Punch

Can be bought from the Wyndon Poke Mart in front of the stadium.

TM05 Thunder Punch

Can be bought from the Wyndon Poke Mart in front of the stadium.

TM06 Fly

At the house closest to the Stow-on-Side stadium and on the left of the path, speak to the Corviknight cabbie inside to obtain this TM.

TM07 Pin Missile

In the southern fields behind Turrfield, check behind Poke Kid Rhys.

TM08 Hyper Beam

Can be bought from the Wyndon Poke Mart in front of the stadium.

TM09 Giga Impact

Can be bought from the Wyndon Poke Mart in front of the stadium.

TM10 Magical Leaf

Received as a reward from Milo after defeating him in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM11 Solar Beam

In Turffield, check the river to find this TM.

TM12 Solar Blade

Can be bought from the Wyndon Poke Mart in front of the stadium.

TM13 Fire Spin

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM14 Thunder Wave

Finish the Rotom Rally Race between the Pokémon Nursery in the Bridge Field wild area and East Lake Axewell to receive as a reward.

TM15 Dig

Check near the backpacker’s tent on Route 6 to find this TM.

TM16 Screech

Talk to the NPC on floor 2 of the Circhester Hotel to receive this TM.

TM17 Light screen

Can be bought from the Motostoke Poke Mart.

TM18 Reflect

Can be bought from the Motostoke Poke Mart.

TM19 Safeguard

Can be bought from the Motostoke Poke Mart .

TM20 Self-Destruct

Can be bought from the Motostoke Poke Mart .

TM21 Rest

In Ballonea, inspect the back of the local Poke Mart to find this TM, on the right side.

TM22 Rock Slide

Can be found on Route 9.

TM23 Thief

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM24 Snore

In the Glimwood Tangle forest, in the middle and to the South of the elderly trainer.

TM25 Protect

Can be bought from the Motostoke Poke Mart.

TM26 Scary Face

In Galar Mine No. 2, take the path to the right of the first female worker to find this TM.

TM27 Icy Wind

Received as a reward from Melony after defeating her in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM28 Giga Drain

Can be purchased from the lady at the Wyndon Battle Tower, right side.

TM29 Charm

In the Hammerlocke Vault, go to the outside balcony and you’ll spot this TM on the right side of the stairs.

TM30 Steel Wing

On route 6, just past the backpacker who loves curry you’ll find this TM.

TM31 Attract

At the very southern tip of Route 5.

TM32 Sandstorm

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM33 Rain Dance

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM34 Sunny Day

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM35 Hail

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM36 Whirlpool

Received as a reward from Nessa after defeating her in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM37 Beat Up

Can be found on Route 3.

TM38 Will-O-Wisp

Received as a reward from Kabu after defeating him in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM39 Facade

Can be found in the Wild Area, upper side of North Lake Miloch.

TM40 Swift

Given to you by Hop at the first train station. It never misses!

TM41 Helping Hand

Can be bought from the Motostoke Poke Mart .

TM42 Revenge

Received as a reward from Bea after defeating her in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM43 Brick Break

On Route 8, keep an eye open a patrolling Crustle, who’ll be near the TM.

TM44 Imprison

Can be purchased from the lady at the Wyndon Battle Tower, right side.

TM45 Dive

Can be found on Route 9.

TM46 Weather Ball

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far right.

TM47 Fake Tears

Can be found on floor two of the Circhester Hotel.

TM48 Rock Tomb

Received as a reward from Gordie after defeating him in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM49 Sand Tomb

In Galar Mine No. 2, check the right path near the rail worker trainer you just battled.

TM50 Bullet seed

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM51 Icicle Spear

Can be found in the Circhester baths.

TM52 Bounce

Can be purchased from the lady at the Wyndon Battle Tower, right side.

TM53 Mud Shot

Can be found in Galar Mine No. 2.

TM54 Rock Blast

In Galar Mine No. 2, go past Worker Keith until you reach a southbound path and you’ll find the TM on the ledge.

TM55 Brine

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far left of the city.

TM56 U-Turn

Check the North section of the Glimwood Tangle forest to find this TM.

TM57 Payback

At Professor Magnolia’s House, go behind it and search near the tree.

TM58 Assurance

Can be found on Route 7.

Can be purchased from the lady at the Wyndon Battle Tower, right side.

TM60 Power Swap

Can be purchased from the lady at the Wyndon Battle Tower, right side.

TM61 Guard Swap

TM69 Psycho Cut

Can be found on Route 2.

TM73 Cross Poison

Can be found in the Dusty Bowl.

TM74 Venoshock

Just south of the Stow-On-Sea stadium, there’s a ladder that can be climbed. Do that, check the house on the left and you’ll spot the TM on the roof.

TM75 Low Sweep

Can be found in the Bridge Field wild area.

TM76 Round

Can be bought from the Motostoke Poke Mart.

TM77 Hex

After you defeat Opal, speak to the elderly lady inside her house to receive this TM.

TM78 Acrobatics

Talk to that freakin’ creepy artist dude in Ballonlea to receive this TM.

TM79 Retaliate

Given to you by Sonia as a reward for defeating Nessa.

TM80 Volt Switch

Earn 20 000 points in the Rotom Rally to win this TM.

TM81 Bulldoze

Can be found in the Giant’s Seat wild area

TM82 Electroweb

In Hulbury, behind the lighthouse.

TM83 Razor Shell

Can be purchased from the lady at the Wyndon Battle Tower, right side.

TM84 Tail Slap

Can be found in the Rolling Field wild area.

TM85 Snarl

Received as a reward from Piers after defeating him in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM86 Phantom Force

Can be found across from the wooden bridge, in the Slumbering Weald.

TM87 Draining Kiss

Received as a reward from Opal after defeating her in the Galar Gym Challenge Cup.

TM88 Grassy Terrain

Can be bought from the Hammerlocke Poke Mart on the far right.

TM89 Misty Terrain

TM90 Electric Terrain
