Ah Assassin’s Creed, I’ve experienced numerous times and ages through the eyes of historical heroes such as Altair, Ezio Auditore and soon, the half Native American Connor, an assassin who wields the dea- GET BACK IN THE DAMN CHAIR DESMOND!
That’s pretty much the attitude we’ve had to go through with the Assassin’s Creed franchise over the years, as what should have been the lead protagonist in our story, has been nothing more than an excuse to relive these events, as Desmond serves a better purpose as a set of interactive eyes into that world.
Bit it seems that when Assassin’s Creed 3 rolls around at the end of October this year, we’re going to see a lot more of Desmond than we’re actually used to.
“All I can say about Desmond’s story is you’re going to experience more Desmond than you’ve ever had before”, lead writer Matt Turner said to CVG, talking about how the game would spend more time on “the present” as well.
It’s a big part of our story and I don’t really want to give too many details away because I want people to experience what that is. But rest assured, you’re going to see a lot of Desmond.
More so than in any past game.
Turner also spoke about the challenges faced when writing the story for Assassin’s Creed 3, as the Revolutionary War that the game was set in happened to be particularly “well documented”, requiring the team to really “pay attention to it”.
Judging by that comment, I’d bet my white hoodie that we’re going to get not one, but two open worlds to play around in, as the current cycle in the Assassin’s Creed universe draws to a close.
