World of Warcraft Legion

I hope you’ve packed your bags and bid farewell to your loved ones. Why? Because the latest World of Warcraft expansion, Legion, launches soon, and you won’t be seeing them EVER again, or at least not for a very, very long time.

Defenders of the Alliance and the Horde—a great and ancient enemy has set its sights on Azeroth once more, and soon the land will be consumed in a storm of fel fire. Starting on August 30, kingdoms will burn, heroes will fall, and the world will stand on the precipice of destruction with the launch of World of Warcraft: Legion!

Yeah, I wasn’t kidding. Legion kicks off in just a few hours, at midnight tonight to be exact (for us here in South Africa, and the rest of Europe). As for everybody else, well, they’re going to have to wait a teeny bit longer (via VG247):

  • North America – 12:00 am PDT
  • Latin America – 12:00 am PDT/4:00 am BRT
  • Australia/New Zealand – 5:00 pm AEST

You might want to grab your nearest calendar, for the launch of Legion isn’t the only date you’ll want to remember. Make sure you pen the following down too…

  • Tuesday, August 30 – When Legion is live, dungeons will immediately be available on Normal and Heroic difficulties. Mythic dungeon difficulty will become available at 8am PDT in alignment with the weekly dungeon reset time.
  • Tuesday, September 20 – The Emerald Nightmare Raid dungeon opens on Normal and Heroic difficulties. Mythic Keystones will begin dropping which will allow increased challenge and rewards from Mythic dungeons.
  • Tuesday, September 27 – Mythic difficulty for the Emerald Nightmare Raid dungeon opens. The first wing of Raid Finder difficulty for Emerald Nightmare opens.
  • Tuesday, October 11 – Raid Finder Wing 2 of Emerald Nightmare opens.
  • Tuesday, October 25 – Raid Finder Wing 3 of Emerald Nightmare opens.

The first season of Legion PvP will only begin later next month, on September the 20th. You’ll be able to start earning Honor right away however, as soon as the expansion opens its doors.

Being a complete WoW noob, I can’t give you my opinion on whether I think Legion will be any good or not. Kyle on the other hand though, knows his stuff, and he seems pretty excited for what’s to come. What about you? ARE YOU PREPARED?
