The Ruined City wing in The League of Explorers Hearthstone adventure is now live!

League-of-Explorers

I have an odd history with Hearthstone. During the beta, I played it a fair amount, eager to see what this new IP from Blizzard was. After a few weeks though, I got over it, and swore never to play again for as long as I lived.

I did well, for about a year and half or so. Then I went off to BlizzCon and played a single quest from the latest adventure for the card game – The League Of Explorers. Though short, it was immensely fun, and as a result, has pulled me back into Hearthstone, despite the fact that it still makes me rage every now and then.

I’m currently grinding away, doing daily quests to make enough gold to unlock the first wing of the adventure. I’m so close, so so so close (just 40 gold away at the moment), and cannot wait to join Reno Jackson and co for the wild ride.

If you on the other hand, have already experienced the Temple of Orsis, as well as Uldaman, good news – the next part of the adventure, The Ruined City, is now open for exploration:

The Staff of Origination is nearly complete! All that’s missing now is the gem that fits into the headpiece: the Pearl of the Tides. It is, alas, secreted away somewhere in The Ruined City; an overgrown ruins set within the jungle of Stranglethorn Vale. Stranglethorn is no tropical paradise! it’s a dense, steamy jungle teeming with malignant murlocs and nefarious naga—indeed, danger lurks behind every leaf and vine! Fortunately, Sir Finley Mrrgglton is prepared to help you navigate through the wilderness to reach the ruins.

As is the case with the previous wings, there are bosses to face, and new cards waiting to be earned. If you’d like to find out more about what can be unlocked by completing The Ruined City, you can do so right here. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to do today’s quest, which just so happens to have a reward of, hey, 40 gold.
