Rumour Merry Go Round – Midway jumping ship to Nu Metro?

2 min read

Ster Kinekor seem to be making the news for all the wrong reasons at the moment. But these things go in waves and hopefully this is the last of the rumours for now.

I have been reliably informed* that SK may be losing another license in South Africa and if the large image above hasn’t given it away then it’s Midway games.

Midway have also recently been in the news for the wrong reasons themselves and I have to say that maybe taking the Midway license could be a dangerous thing for Nu Metro to be doing, however Midway does have a fine pedigree behind it and I fully expect it to bounce back from its recent dip in form.

The story goes that Midway were spotted at Nu Metro’s offices earlier today to finalise the deal and if all goes well we could be seeing the ink on the paper over the weekend with an official announcement next week sometime.

As we saw with the Capcom rumour the official announcement often takes a lot longer than the confirmed rumour status so for now please everyone be aware of the large RUMOUR status that this one has.

In regards to the previous rumour about Konami leaving SK, well it seems that SK is still giving out preview copies of Konami games to their valued partners so it would appear that the Konami rumour is false.

Again an official announcement would be great but unfortunately not forthcoming.

The required requests for comment have been sent out and I will let you know if we receive any official response.
