See how Amiibo works in Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U

Yes, I realise that I sound like a broken record here, but have you played Super Smash Bros. 3DS yet? The game is spectacular! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that the Wii U version will take everything from the handheld version, add to it, and make it better. In fact, there are over 50 things to look forward to in the console version. One of the new features comes in the form of Amiibo, Nintendo’s amazing figurines of their various characters.

This latest video shows just how they will be incorporated into the game.

Granted, it is cheesy to the max. It gets the point across though. Simply tapping the figure on the Wii U tablet controller puts forth your version of the character into the game. The video shows these gamers controlling them, but as far as I know, you can have the CPU control them too and make them fight for you. The more you play with your Amiibo, the stronger it will get. The figures themselves look incredible, I might just pick a few up for myself even though I don’t own a Wii U.

Also present in the video is the 8-player smash mode, which looks to be all manners of chaotic. Super Smash Bros. Wii U looks like it will be the best series entry yet. I WANT IT WITH MY WHOLE BODY! Will you be picking it up?
